Venue Operations Manager Job

Several roles, all sorts of skills and experiences considered

Salary: £32000 – £40,000 depending on experience (FTE salary)

Start Date: May/June 2022

Bristol, BS2 – on site 

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an incredible team of creatives including artists, set designers, storytellers, circus performers, festival organisers, sculptors and poets developing the World’s first Amazement Park® in Bristol, opening in the heart of Bristol in 2022.

The longer-term vision is to take the brand and proposition to a global audience and include bespoke music events, inspirational talks, theatre, education and food.

An interactive immersive art experience which provides an alternative to the traditional art gallery. This fantastical experience for all ages fuses creativity and ancient wisdom, igniting the imagination and inspiring a more harmonious world.

In summary 

  • The Venue Operations team will be responsible for delivering this new visitor experience. The team will oversee all FOH elements of the park from Box Office, customer service, safety to gift shop stock, bar management and stock.
  • It is a varied role and different members of the team can have different skill sets but in the first instance we are looking for all the senior team to be able to understand and operate in all roles.
  • The park will be open 7 days a week (going down to 5 days per week on low season) and has a wide range of opening hours, so you must be happy to work SOME weekends and flexible hours.
  • We’ve got a full job description with all the various responsibilities and duties listed – full venue operations involved, but what is absolutely key is:
  • Energy, enthusiasm and great customer service
  • Experience in tourism and leisure, entertainment or visitor experiences
  • 3yrs+ experience of venue operation management / senior assistant management 
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations
  • Sound knowledge of safety measures and risk management strategies
  • Great interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and leadership abilities
